Relax Lures was founded in 1992 by Witold Kowalczyk in Bielawa, Poland. Witold was a second-generation fisherman who moved to the United States in the late 1970s. He always brought American lures back to Poland when he visited his home country every year to fish. However, he found that those baits didn't work nearly as well on fish in Poland as they did in the US. He decided to develop his own baits that worked better for the European market. The fact that this worked out is probably not lost on anyone, Relax is probably the company with the most famous perch jigs in the world! Unfortunately Witold had a heart attack during a fishing trip in 2015 and passed away. Of course, the company continues to operate with the same models and the same thinking!
